Description
The Kapitan Khlebnikov is a polar-class icebreaker combing power and technology with comfort. No passenger ship has transited the Northwest Passage more often than the renowned Kapitan Khlebnikov. Originally designed to take on the rigors of northern Siberia, the 24,000 horsepower engine and advanced ice-breaking technology take you places no other ship can. The ship offers 52 outside cabins and suites, all featuring private facilities, large windows, desk, hair dryer, robes and large closets.
Kapitan Khlebnikov was built in 1981 by the Finnish industrial group Wärtsilä, one of the world’s leading builders of icebreakers. The ship is not only ice-reinforced but can break ice as thick as two meters and is therefore well adapted to navigate in the frozen waters of our polar regions – no other passenger ship has crossed the Northwest Passage more times and it was not only the first ship to circumnavigate Antarctica, it has done it twice!
The ship has been renovated to accommodate passengers in 54 spacious and comfortable cabins and suites, all with private facilities. On board there are two dining rooms, a lecture hall, a small heated pool, gym, sauna, library and lounge. From deck and the bridge you are able to enjoy the magic surroundings. In addition to Zodiacs Kapitan Khlebnikov uses helicopters for ice reconnaissance as well as passenger excursions.
Now you can get this beautiful Kapitan Khlebnikov Icebreaker model for your home or office. Our master craftsmen handcrafted this nicely detailed model from scratch using historical photographs, drawings, and original plans. In addition, we selected the finest woods and material to build this model. Also, we use the plank-on-frame construction method which is similar to the building of the actual ship.
Each model requires hundreds of hours to finish and must go through a demanding quality control process before leaving the workshop. She is mounted on a solid wood base and ready to display. It’ll make a perfect gift for home or office decorator, boat enthusiast, or passionate collector.
