Riva Sebino (1952-1957)

The Riva Sebino is a compact and simple boat, five meters long with an open sunbathing area behind the front bench seat, a precedent for the deck designs of the later Junior and Olympic. She was the first boat that Carlo Riva designed for mass production to a single design, and in this way a forerunner of the range of boats that followed. Also this was the first boat exclusively for series production using a 60 Hp Chris-Craft engine. Later on, all the 119 boats built were powered by this Chris-Craft 60 horsepower engines.

Riva have been using Honduras mahogany to plank throughout the boat. They originally equipted the boat with a two-part frameless glass windscreen, dark green vinyl dashboard and seating, an article holder under the deck and a green fabric sunbed. A new steering box made of bronze with stainless steel parts and a Monel propeller shaft were fitted. From # 98, at the end of 1956, the bottom was a single piece of plywood and, from 101, the decking was also made of plywood, with inlaid veneers. The 1957 series is also typified by the wrap-around glass windscreen.

We are offering this Riva Sebino model for commissioning only. Our master craftsmen will handcraft this Sebino replica highly detailed from scratch using historical photographs, drawings and original plan. We hand-built Riva Sebino 100%  individually using plank-on-frame construction method and similar to the building of actual boat. Also we will use only finest wood to construct the hull, chrome fittings on deck, brass propeller & rudder. The seats will be made from leather or upholstery with realistic gauges, steering wheel in cockpit. Finally, the finish model of Riva Sebino will come with flags, a wooden stand for easy display.
